 | Who would've expected the B-52's to have a massive comeback like the
Cosmic Thing album and the song Love Shack, which was #2 here but a huge smash
nationwide, after losing their primary songwriter and guitarist Ricky Wilson?
I wasn't a huge fan of the album but I found it a nice feel-good story. |
 | I believe the version of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus (#4) here is not
the version on Violator but actually an acoustic demo that they gave to KROQ
in advance of the album. But it took off--and it is at least as good as
the album version in my view. |
 | Love and Rockets' So Alive (#7) was a #1 hit nationwide--who woulda
thunkit? As far as I could tell it not only marked the height of the
band's popularity but the end of it as well. |
 | Hey Ladies was the only song on the Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique album
that made the list--and it barely made the list. Nobody realized how
amazing this album was until a lot later. |
