About the List
| Included above are the 95 bands that had at least 3 countdown entries,
along with the first and last years that the band had an entry in a list..
I set a higher cutoff (5) for KROQ and 91X, but because I only have 8 years of
lists there weren't a lot of bands with 5 or more so I lowered the threshold.
The list is sorted by the number of entries and then the first year the band
had an entry. |
| I was surprised to see the Foo Fighters top the list. Dave Grohl
sort of reminds me of Paul McCartney--tremendous success and lots of hits
after leaving a great band, but nobody mixes the Wings with the Beatles and
the Foo Fighters don't quite match the legacy of Nirvana either. I
expect in a couple of years we'll hear a lame urban legend joke that kids of
the 00s are shocked to hear that Dave Grohl was in a band before the Foo
Fighters. |
